Our Story

Scratch start or DSO? How about a partnership?

Meet Dr. Pako Major

My family immigrated to America from Poland when I was 7 years old. My parents and I worked hard, and I was able to attend the University of Wisconsin for undergrad and Marquette University for dental school. I finished my general practice residency in 2011 and dove straight into my dream of building a scratch practice. I was 27 years old, newly married, over 1 million dollars in debt and had no idea what I was doing.

Private practice

I was fulfilling my dream of practice ownership by building an office from scratch. But it was much more difficult than I could have anticipated. I had to make clinical mistakes, customer service mistakes, leadership mistakes, and business mistakes all on my own. As I worked tirelessly toward my dream, I became increasingly isolated. I didn't have anyone to help me make decisions about my business, so I decided to do something about it.

Heartland Dental

In 2015, I sold my offices to Heartland Dental and learned about the resources and benefits that came with a DSO. I gained access to trainings that I never had time for when running things on my own. I was soon within the top 1% of all Heartland producers. I became one of only 12 Clinical Directors and was able to train other doctors on the new techniques I was learning. In my time at Heartland, I placed more dental implants than any other doctor at the company.

Meet the team

Brittney

Clinical Administrator

Meet Brittney, our Clinical Administrator for Milwaukee Dental Partners. She's been in the dental space for 4 years and has an intimate knowledge of all things back office.
In her role as Clinical Administrator, she supports and encourages clinical staff as well as Doctors through mentorship and coaching. Brittney achieves this through different avenues such as partnering with the Doctors to be better leaders and communicators, improving efficiency in patient appointments, and setting the doctor up for success in treatment rooms through clinical staff and systems training.  When Brittney is not at the Milwaukee Dental Partners office locations, you can find her grabbing Starbucks drinks, enjoying a glass of cab, decorating, and hitting the links with her husband.

Kendal

Hygiene Mentor

Kendal grew up in Muskego, WI before recently moving to Random Lake, WI. She knew at a young age her passion in life was to help others, and now is proud to be able to help the doctors with whom she works. Kendal worked as a certified nursing assistant at Froedtert Hospital while she continued pushing herself through school. She graduated in May 2017 with honors from Milwaukee Area Technical College with a degree in Associate Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Kendal is growing in her career as a Hygiene Mentor, working side by side with other hygienists to help them excel in their professional goals. She enjoys coming to work because of her amazing team and the excellent comprehensive care they strive to provide. Kendal loves spending time building relationships with her patients while educating them on the importance of oral hygiene. When not at work, Kendal enjoys spending time with family and friends.

The Vision

I left Heartland to pursue another dream. I had a vision of being a doctor who could help other doctors by providing the resources and advantages that you can't get when you're on your own. It was clear and simple — help doctors achieve their goal of private practice ownership while providing the benefits and support that only come with an experienced partner. This new dream began when I started mentoring dentists and it came to life when I created Milwaukee Dental Partners.
